Registering: the undertaking

Step 5 of 5. The reference field and the box you have to tick.

The last step. One optional field and one required tick.

FieldRequiredNotes
ReferenceNoHow you heard about the conference, or who referred you. Free text.
UndertakingYesYou must tick this to submit.

The undertaking

The exact wording is shown on the form. Ticking it is a declaration that the details you have given are true and that you agree to the conference's conduct expectations. It is the only field on the whole form the server will refuse outright if it is missing.

Submitting

Press submit once. The button locks itself while the request is in flight, so double-clicking cannot create two registrations, and the server rejects a duplicate email as a second line of defence.

What happens immediately

  1. Your delegate record is created with the status REGISTERED.

  2. You are sent to a confirmation page holding your private status link. Bookmark it. It looks like /status/ followed by a long random string.

  3. A confirmation email arrives. If your first choice was double delegation, your partner gets one too.

Careful

Save the status link somewhere you will find it again. Anyone holding it can see your application, so do not post it publicly, but it is also the simplest way back to your own record. If you lose it, create an account with the same email address and use the dashboard instead.

If the confirmation email never arrives

Your registration still went through. Email delivery is deliberately allowed to fail without failing the registration, and the failure is recorded so staff can resend it. Check your spam folder first, then see troubleshooting.

Next: tracking your application.
